The plates slowly dropped when he unbuckled them, and his fingers clenched the chest plate before putting it on it's place. All movement were slow, and he saw everything as if it only were a memory. As if it didn't happen to him right now. He didn't know how he got to the restroom, and he stood there, stared at himself in the mirror. Bruised skin, blood slowly sipping out of wounds.
He acted on pure instinct when he activated that bomb, he was prepared to die. Damn, he was almost sure that he would die.
But Shepard came back.
He chose him over Ashley.
It made him furious, but no word left his lips. He made it to save the others. Yet Ashley di
Kaidan sighted as he walked across the Normandy, against the crew's quarter. And there Shepard sat, in the dining area with his head in his hands, alone. Dimmed light, and Kaidan could tell from the looks of it that Shepard had a headache. Walked silently against the cooking area, boiled some water and made two cups of tea. Kaidan put down one of the cups in front of Shepard, before taking the seat across the table, stared down at the steaming liquid.
"It helps a bit against headaches. And it's calming for a full mind." And Kaidan still refused to turn up his head, see the slightly cold eyes stare at him. Because that's how it always was.
